Principal Aims
-
Close the Attainment Gap
We aim to raise academic achievement in core subjects like reading, writing, and mathematics, ensuring disadvantaged pupils meet or exceed age-related expectations. Through targeted interventions and adaptive teaching, we address learning gaps and foster confidence. -
Promote Personal Growth and Resilience
Beyond academics, we focus on nurturing personal development, emotional well-being, and resilience. Our "Ready, Respectful, Safe Together" ethos underpins this aim, helping pupils build positive behaviours and emotional literacy. -
Enhance Inclusivity for SEND Pupils
We ensure equitable access to learning for all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Individual Provision Maps and bespoke interventions are tailored to each pupil’s unique needs. -
Improve Attendance and Engagement
Recognising the link between regular attendance and learning outcomes, we work to improve attendance rates and reduce persistent absenteeism. Family engagement initiatives and supportive interventions play a central role in this effort. -
Expand Cultural Capital and Aspiration
Our rich curriculum, extracurricular activities, and enrichment opportunities broaden pupils' horizons and inspire lifelong curiosity. From STEM workshops to cultural trips, we equip pupils with the knowledge and experiences to thrive in the wider world.
How We Achieve This
- Implementing evidence-based teaching strategies, including trauma-informed practices and metacognitive learning approaches.
- Providing professional development for teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality, inclusive teaching.
- Engaging parents and carers through transparent communication and support initiatives.
- Aligning our curriculum with activities that connect learning to real-world contexts and experiences.
Measuring Success
We monitor progress through regular assessments, pupil voice surveys, and behaviour and attendance data. Our focus is on measurable outcomes, including:
- Improved academic attainment.
- Enhanced social-emotional development.
- Increased attendance and engagement in school life.
Our Pupil Premium Strategy reflects our dedication to creating an inclusive, supportive, and aspirational environment for all pupils. Together, we aim to empower our pupils to succeed, both academically and personally.
