Our final curriculum project is Blue Abyss which is a science and geography project which will include: identifying oceans around the world, identifying the Great Barrier Reef, understanding habitats, sorting and grouping, classifying, food chains and adaptation. In art we will also be creating an animal in clay as well as looking at the camouflage patterns of ocean animals. As part of this project, we will be visiting Plymouth Aqaurium on Monday 11th July, where we will look in more detail at plastic pollution, an area that affects us locally.
Children should read daily at home and parents/ carers are asked to sign their reading record daily. Their reading books and records should be brought into school every day.
PE is on a Wednesday (Athletics) and Thursday (Striking and Fielding)
Children should continue to come to school in their full PE kit, which comprises of:
- A turquoise PE T-shirt (with embroidered school logo)
- Black shorts
- Plimsolls or trainers
- A Turquoise PE zipped hoodie (optional) or other jumper from home
This half term, we will be teaching the children about ‘Growing and Changing’. These lessons will include them learning about: body changes during puberty including periods, managing difficult feelings and relationships including marriage. Should you have any questions relating to the content of these lessons, then please speak with your child’s class teacher.
Please could we remind you to send your child with a water bottle every day.
