Welcome to Widemouth Class!
Autumn Term:
It has been fantastic to welcome the new year 6's back into school after a long Summer break. They have settled in extremely well and have made a great start to the new school year. This term our main project is 'A Child's War'. We will be studying many aspects of WW2 including when, where and why it started as well as looking in depth at 'The Blitz'. We will be visiting Flambards this term in order to immerse ourselves in their amazing 'Britain in the Blitz' exhibit.
In maths, we are starting the year with place value. In English we are learning how to write letters and in science we are studying evolution.
 General Information:
PE is on a Monday and Thursday so please ensure that your child comes to school in their PE kit on that day. The class will have two PE sessions a week.
Children should read daily at home and parents/ carers are asked to sign their reading record four times a week.  Their reading books and journals should be brought into school every day.
The children will also have maths and English homework each week. This will be set on a Monday and will be due on the Friday of the same week.
Please could we remind you to send your child with a water bottle and appropriate clothing every day.
Please contact us if you have any questions or anything you would like to discuss.
